1. Schedule a time to organize with your children so they can help. 2. Start by emptying the closet to make room to begin. 3. Use 3 containers for this task; (1) Keep (2) Sell or Donate (3) Trash. 4. Store clothes, labeled age appropriately, so you can easily get to them when needed in the future. 5. Use shelves or nets for stuffed animals 6. Store and rotate toys periodically to keep them interesting and fresh to your child. 7. Use a filing system for art projects. 8. Keep kids on set schedules. They will be more confident and self assured. 9. Give them chores and teach them responsibility. Use a checklist with some kind of reward system. Praise them for a job well done. 10. Know where everything goes and have them clean up after themselves as they go, not just in their room, but throughout the house. |
