Jennifer got her start as a Floating Receptionist in an office of over 30 doctors, with specialties ranging from Obstetrics to Pediatrics and from Cardiology to Orthopedics. At a moments notice, she filled in, scheduled appointments, checked patients in, and took calls wherever needed. Each of the stations had hand written, sometimes scribbled pages of instructions to be met in the event the regular staff was absent. Recognizing the need for standardized protocol, Jennifer studied the instructions, then organized, formatted, and retyped the material, making it easier to train staff and maximize efficiency. During her time with the clinic, she was commended by many staff members, who felt much less stress while leaving their desk in the hands of a "floater", and by the doctors, who’s schedules benefited from the improvements. |
